I am going to see Massive Attack in concert! This makes me so happy and excited you have no idea. They haven't been on tour in probably over 15 years, and I started liking them about 10 years ago and have wanted to see them live ever since. Now they're all of a sudden going to be in Toronto and I am SO going to the show!

It was really fate that this happened - I picked up a copy of NOW magazine while I was wandering College St this afternoon and was midlessly leafing through it while I was watching Little House on the Prairie tonight. The words "Massive Attack" caught my eye and when they were followed with dates and a venue I couldn't believe they were playing a show. Then I prepared myself for disappointment because I knew the shows would be sold out. But then realised that tickets didn't go on sale until tomorrow! I knew I HAD to get tickets, Sso then I did some sneaky research online and got a presale code and bought tickets tonight! WOOT! Yes, so stoked.

And another highlight of this magazine is my horoscope:
Scorpio: How would you make love - not have sex, but make love - with your sandwich, with the music you listen to, with a vase of flowers, with the familiar strangers sitting in the cafe, with everything? Your expertise in this art is now at peak.

Fan-freaking-tastic.

More point form updates:

- I went to go see the Beyonce concert on Tuesday night. It rocked my socks off. Seriously. I'm not a huge Beyonce fan to begin with, but her concert was amazing and super entertaining. I was dancing around and singing... I think it might have been the best giant concert that I've seen. (I think the best small concert I've seen was MSTRKRFT in Seattle, but that is beside the point!)

- I had the most frustrating run-around day yesterday ever. Ugh. It stemmed from me leaving my photography assignment, due that night, to the last minute - well, it wasn't quite my fault because I had been in Quebec City for the entire weekend. I was running around to a bizillion Jean Coutus and Pharmaprixs trying to get a photo printed in an hour, running home, running back, running to class, running running running. Lesson learned: be more organized!!

- I'm having serious contemplations lately about my future. About what I want to be when I grow up. This whole "future" thing is creeping up on me slowly, and I realise that I can't bum around and work shitty jobs forever - not that I want to anway! So, options are looking towards possibly grad school? Becoming a child psychologist? Continuing studying photography? Moving to other cities (maybe settling in Vancouver?)? I'm going to make this weekend a let's-get-serious-about-the-future weekend, and do some career research. Yeehaw.

- I want to see a Broadway musical. Is it weird that I have a craving for that? Singing and dancing just make me so happy. I've been YouTubing a bunch of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs tonight and singing along like a crazy girl. These songs always remind me of being a kid, too - my dad used to have a bunch of Andrew Lloyd Webber CDs and we'd aaaalways listen to them. I think it's his fault that I am now a musical junkie, and love Phantom and Cats and Joseph... There's no shows happening in Montreal though. When my mom and I were in Quebec City, Les Miserables was playing there... So it's either to Quebec City again, or to NYC! I'm thinking NYC wins.

- This entry was completely random and weird. I will end in the best way: with a photo.

I <3 Seattle

Seattle was so great. I seriously love it there and could live there in an instant. This trip to Seattle was even better than past trips there because we were hanging out with a couple friends who live there and got away from downtown and into the local neighbourhoods of Capitol Hill (a very trendy, young neighbourhood with fantastically old brick buildings) and Fremont (an arty neighbourhood). We all spent Friday night drinking local beer at a couple bars in Capitol Hill and walked around and at 1AM, we drove to a park in Fremont that overlooks the entire city at night... it was damn great.

Seeing that side of Seattle has just cemented more in my head that I need to leave here and live in a big metropolitan city. Soon. I crave that kind of diversity and vibrancy. I felt this way when I came back from New York city last summer too. Living here may be a good place to settle down, but right now I want to experience and do things and I itch to get away.

Anyway! The real reason this journey to Seattle took place was to see the MSTRKRFT concert, which was also awesome. We were listening to their music on the whole drive down to Seattle so I was well primed! That was the second MSTRKFRT concert I'd been to and it was waaaay better than the first. Yep yep, it was great.

And now: homework and laundry. :(

I'm so vain, I probably think this blog is about me

So when I'm 50, I want to be part of a women's hockey team and do kickboxing classes and ride mechanical bulls. Srsly.

I'm randomly going to Seattle tomorrow after work to see MSTRKRFT. I was originally going to go see them in Vancouver on Friday night, but the tickets were sold out - and I mean, going to Vancouver is pretty much like going to Seattle, right? Eh. I need a vacation anyway.

All I want to do right now is close my eyes and stand under the hot water in the shower. And then slide under my cool covers and read my book. And to go sleep. Is that incredibly nerdy? Too bad.

Regressing back to being a teenager

This past week I've kind of regressed back to being 13 again, and it's been a lot of fun! I have:

a) had a sleepover with my friends (on a school [work] night! oh no!)
b) gone to the Backstreet Boys concert!

Yes, it's been a blast from the past. The sleepover was tons of fun with tons of food, wine, and chatter, even if I did have to be up at 6:30AM the next morning. And, Backstreet Boys were one of my favourite boy bands (N'Sync was probably tied for this #1 position) and so I ended up going to the concert - I will not be ashamed to say I thought it was awesome! I was singing along to all their songs, well not their new ones, and dancing, and laughing. Brian is still hot, Nick is still an arrogant asshole, AJ looked super scruffy and old and not as hot as I thought when I was going through my 'bad boy' phase, and Howie was, well Howie.

It's been a pretty good week. This weekend I have the house to myself because Geoff is at a concert down in Washington state. And I've been loving it! Hehe. My goal for this weekend: to get my website fully functional. The deadline: Monday 8AM.
